International Symposium on Affect in Mathematics Education

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the

International Symposium on Affect in Mathematics Education with special guest professor Gerald Goldin.

This meeting will be a special extended session of the Interdisciplinary Seminar on Mathematics Education led by a group of young researchers and graduate students at the Institute of Mathematics of the Pedagogical University of Cracow.

This Symposium will be held on 26 June 2015 in the main building of the Pedagogical University of Cracow (Podchorążych 2, Cracow). The activities start at 9:00 and finish with a social dinner at 19:00.

Professor Gerald Goldin (Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA) will be a special guest of this meeting. He will give a plenary lecture on

Affective Dimensions of Mathematical Learning and Problem Solving.

We welcome contributed talks (15 minutes talk plus 5 minutes for questions). However, we would like to hold the major part of this meeting in a less formal style. For this reason there will be a lot of time for open discussions. Furthermore, all participants are invited to join an integrating dinner on Friday (June 26) evening.

So as not to create any unnecessary barriers, we decided to invite all interested researchers, students and teachers for this meeting without any entrance fee. Instead of this, all participants need to cover all their costs (travel, accommodation, coffee breaks, lunch, dinner etc.) themselves.

If you intend to participate, please register by June 19. If you want to contribute a talk, please register by June 5. In both cases, please use the following form:

The detailed time table will be send to registered participants on June 20.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Cracow.
